Chapter Youth Program Re-Launches
The New York-North Jersey Chapter is gearing up to re-launch its chapter youth program, AMC Outings for Urban Kids (AOK), which will link urban youth groups with AMC leaders interested in sharing the wonder and adventure of the outdoors. The program will be targeted to children and teens who may not have had any previous opportunities to explore the natural environment.

for further information. Please note that all leaders must undergo a background check as well as training, which will be provided by the AMC.
We are also presently looking for at least two chapter youth program coordinators to help supervise the program and serve as liaisons to participating agencies.

- Wed., Apr 2. 630pm-800pm. The Hudson River School Painters - their style, works, and hikes.
- Painters of the Hudson River School portray the region that we preserve, where we recreate, and honor as a national landmark. This 90 minute, 3-part lecture is hosted at The Princeton Club. This lecture features a renowned art expert from the Metropolitan Museum of Art who will discuss the works of The HRS painters and where those paintings can be viewed. Also speaking shall be the acclaimed artist, Thomas Locker, who paints in the HRS style; he will discuss his methods and works, and have several of his paintings on display. An AMC L will present where to explore the places depicted in the works of the HRS painters. The PC is located at 15 W43. There is no fee for this lecture, but registration is required. 100 seats have been reserved for AMC members.
