1999 River Clean-Up Photos

Sunday, May 16, 1999, Hackensack River, NY

  This was the third consecutive year for us to clean up the Hackensack River in New York. Again this year the trip was led by Tom Trevor with Kerry O'Brien as co-leader. This is one of the trips that made the Rockland County Journal News.

The "Crew" gathers at the put-in in their clean white T-shirts: From left, Rear: Tom Trevor (Leader), Sally Schniling, Jim Grefig, Karen Linzenberg, unk., Rick DiFiebre, Alfred Goldstrom, Ed Cronley;
Front: Mimi, Tanya McCabe, Lara Gueco, unk., Jonathon Emerson, Marcia Strean, April Lasher, unk., Evan Cronley -- Probably not right.

Marcia Strean and Jonathan Emerson (?) with a pretty good boat load.

Rick and April Lasher scour the bank for debris.

Tanya, Rick and Karen Linzenberg have been working on the huge metal piano back for three years. Finally got it off the river by using, of all things, a "Z" drag!

On Saturday we did. . .the Rockaway.
