Welcome to the Young Members web site of the Appalachian Mountain Club! As one of the fastest growing segment of the club, we are glad that you have discovered us. We are proud to be part of the premier outdoor club in the Northeast! [About the AMC]
I hope after you have browsed our site that you will feel inspired to join us in our activities as a member. ( [Membership Applications] ) As you can see, we have so much to offer. [Schedule Online] endless opportunity of fun, adventure and growth!
The New York-North Jersey Chapter of the AMC offers myriad outdoor activities, including hiking, backpacking, climbing, canoe & kayaking, cycling, roller blading, trail maintenance, softball, urban kids events, etc.
The Young Members Committee (YMC) hopes you'll take advantage of our outings, which are designed to help younger members learn about the AMC, our mission, and the skills needed to enjoy an active, outdoor lifestyle.
For those of you who are already experienced in outdoor activities, participating in Young Members activity of AMC is a great way to meet your peers - you will make life-long friends with people who share your passion for the outdoors. You have joined the right club!
The YMC activities are intended for member age between 18-35, but all members are welcome. YMC does not organize "Singles" event per se. See [Singles & Sociables]. As all AMC activities, socialization is a big part of the attraction, we have fun doing the activity; meeting new people, make new friends is all part of the fun. More importantly, we expect everyone that participates in our activity is ready to complete the activity. Bring your enthusiasm, readiness and a smile, you will have a great time, each time!

Go north and meet the folks in Pinkham, NH, where you'll feel proud that you belong to something much greater than you thought, and it's not just because of Mt. Washington.
